Hi guys. I just noticed that in my new laptop from the outlet that I have 16gb ram installed, but 2 DIMMS are 10600, and the other 2 are 12800. Could this cause any problems or is this ok? Thanks.

This is fine. Your ram will downclock to the lowest stick ... which means you have 16gigs of DDR3-1333 (10600)

SlickDude is right, the memory running at 1333MHz won't be able to go as high as 1600MHz, so the sticks at 1600MHz will downclock to 1333MHz for stability.

What about two different brands of RAM ? Will there be any adverse performance issues if i add say crucial RAM with the same timings and frequency to the stock RAM that dell uses?

This will work fine...as i did the exact same thing. The only headaches come when you mix ram that work on different voltages, but i think it is pretty standard now in these laptops...1.5v

Yeah as long as the timings are the same and the voltages are the same, mix and match is fine between brands. Just make sure these things are the same to avoid headaches :)
