not bios, VBIOS, as in video bios, it's the bios flash that is on the graphic cards (GPU).

Grimfan put this together for n00bs. Follow it closely. This is your bible to vbios flashing, read, learn and practice patience ;) Also, welcome to the fam bro!

Also, make sure you download and install the drivers after the vbios flash

5870 (September 2010) incl. VBIOS Flash Guide

Also here is a guide for the installation.

Did you read the guides? Did you install the new proper drivers before flashing the vbios?

The problem that you are describing is what ths driver 8.763/vbios is suppose to fix. Even though you installed the new 8.763 driver it has to be done in a certain way. The old driver has to be removed completely before installing the new driver. The subforum about the 8.763 driver and vbios covers this very well. Your problem may be that you are not totally removing the old video driver.

We understand the problem, we've all had it. If it's not resolved by tommorrow, and you get a remote app installed, I can connect and go through the steps for you. But it's almost 2am and I have to get some sleep. I'll be on tommorrow if it's still not resolved and maybe we can work through it.
