So I had a hard drive failure like a couple of weeks ago and just now, I installed an original copy of the Windows 7 Home Premium that came with the Alienware M17x R4 that I have. So, the problem is, I lost the recovery disk that came with my laptop so I technically have to start from scratch.
If any of you know where to download everything for the Alienware M17x R4 that the specs weren't changed at all, it would be awesome. I just need quick help now so I can have this all up and going then I'll make a backup right after for safety precautions. Thanks to all. GO ALIENWARE!

Yes, go to the alienware driver download page an the service tag will return every driver for your laptop. It will also allow you to download all at once.

Make sure to install ALL the drivers, and not just stop when everything seems to be working properly- realizing that your lack of audio drivers was the cause of the optical out running 24/7 is always an interesting situation! (oh, and you can't use more than one set of headphones at once until you get the audio drivers running)

As a side note, the driver disks that come with computers are typically outdated before they get to you; never count on them to be the latest/stable version. Often your computer will ship with a more recent version than is on the recovery disks.

Also once you get everything up and running again and all your drivers in place it isn't a bad idea to make a new Restore DVD using the alienrespawn utility. That way if you ever need to do it again all you do is restore from the DVD's and then you just have to install your programs not all the drivers and such.
