So basically after my laptop was acting up on me and giving me a "windows has been shutdown ot prevent damaage error and not booting up i used the respawn to BACKUP all my data and after it did that it did a system restore and now lets just say
ALL MY BLOODY DATA'S gone all the months/years of data just
Gone.........................
-
-
well, that was happens to me too, well mine is just Alienrespawn basic edition.. , my datas from the past 2 years is gone.. but lucky me got an external disk to save some of the data, so it was like only 45% of my data is gone
and by the way where do you put your Backup data? -
As for External hdd i got one but i was more active lately so lost of my stuff from say august 2011 to now :| ALL of it.......... -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Are you sure you backed it up properly? You can attempt to get it shipped out for data recovery, not going to be cheap.
-
hmm.. sorry to hear that,
but you do backup your data somewhere else right? -
Not exactly, i got most of my data from before august (when i got this laptop) backed up in my old hdd but thats about it new datas gone, now this time i need to set up a way so all my data gets automatically backed up like for favourites some kind of site that backs its up etc
Any suggestions guys ? -
what about your documents, pictures, music, etc..?
-
-
That's weird.. all my data aren't gone, of course those documents, pictures, videos.
Well i found all of them at " C:/ > Users > and then your User name.."
And when i fresh install and back up my old data, i created a new User name.
I was shocked at the first time.. because it says my Backup completed.. but i can't see my data anywhere..
But i'm thinking of Users data, and when i looked at my old user name, Voila!, all my data was there.. -
that's why I always do my bloody backups myself, takes longer time, but at least I have a solid backup in my hand.. sorry to hear that bro
-
If it genuinally has deleted them there is a good chance you can recover it using a recovery program such as Power Data Recovery. Just dont use or save any data on the machine - definitely do not recover the data onto the machine until you have got the data back.

I hate how Alienware charges money to get "premium backup services"... I mean you drop big bucks on a laptop like this you don't expect to be nickel and dimed like that.
I've found that AlienRespawn is only really useful for factory resetting your system. -
Look on the bright side, I was getting my laptop replaced anyway, so no need to transfer the data
-
hmm, replaced? interesting.., but anyway have fun with that replaced laptop, lol
I officially HATE Alienrespawn now... D:
