    1. Download the driver from the site
    2. Extract driver to a folder of your choice
    3. Right click the "modded inf" link because if you click on it normally it loads a page of nonsense.
    4. Save the inf file anywhere, or you can direct it to the driver folder/Display.Driver
    5. Overwrite original inf

This is how you use all the drivers on that site. 3D is still broken for me though but at least the driver works.

I am Currently stable WITH 3D in RAID, if this continues I will run a benchmark to check speed, if the drive is running at max performance then I would say that there is no need to run in AHCI as RAID will enable that functionality anyways.

I am also Running Darcoder's modded drivers for 460m/485m cross compatability

I'm currently in RAID. Windows wasn't happy about AHCI during install. There's no big noticeable difference between the two in terms of windows boot time.

So my current dilemma right now is, I have the suggested driver installed however when I run the 3D setup wizard it says I don't have the 3D driver installed. I tried installing the 3D driver from the included alienware DVD but windows says "driver did not install correctly".

Are you just strictly using darcoder's modded drivers? If so, I'll have to give them a go. Could you link them?

Here ya go, I originally downloaded them so I could "Hot Swap" my 460m & 485m when I wanted to but So far they have worked best for me and now I finally seem to have a stable system.

    Give them a go

Hmm, due to all the driver issues, whats a good driver cleaner I can use after uninstalling my current drivers? Or is uninstalling it good enough?

Ive just been uninstalling, when you load up those nvidia drivers, go to custom and check off clean install, that will make sure any old nvidia stuff is deleted

So I just installed the driver and despite there being an error during installation...3D works! You the bomb. I'd rep the driver maker but I'd have to hunt him down. Hopefully he'll continue making modded drivers in the future. I'll give you a repping.

thx =) I appreciate it, took me about 10 hours to finally get that to all work, like I said, those drivers weren't meant to resolve that issue, I just discovered that coincidentally they do lol

Edit: I am going to make a new topic now with a detailed step by step on how to get a SSD running with a 3D m17x R3

Sorry about the late reply. I see you've got it working now though. What I did was simply use the modded drivers off of laptopvideo, then I used the supplementary 3D vision driver off the m17x R3 dell support page. After that 3D was working fine. I've already created a set of Alienrespawn DVD's when I booted with the stock HDD, so I'm going to wipe the HDD. Glad to see everyone's worked out!

Yea, that's the funny thing, the 3D vision drivers refuse to install correctly. But nonetheless thanks for the response!

Hey dioxcyde, also mention that this works with the vertex 3 120gb max iops!
