I have the R3 with the 460m and it's kinda meh. I mean it's alright but I think I want something more. So should I call dell and ask for the part and install it (which would probably cost me around $800!!!!) or try to sell this one and then just get a new one.

    Here are my specs:

    Intel Core i7 2630QM
    8 GB Stock Ram
    Nvidia GTX 460m
    60hz 1080p screen
    7,200 rpm 320 GB HDD

If I did sell it, how much should I sell it for??

You would probably get about $1000-1500 for it. The 3D model with similar specs and a 2720 was on Outlet for $1800 recently. The 580M by itself is about $1200 if you don't get it with a laptop.

Holy crap.... Why are mobile cards so expensive? Even like the GTX 590 is cheaper than that lol. I think I might just get a new R3 then....

You are thinking the desktop version, not the mobile.

Also, I am in the same boat. I just received a new quote and its around $3600. Need to make sure there are no discounts on it, but wow thats high...

Yea tell me about it. I am still within my 21 days, but honestly not due to not making up my mind, but to due issues with the build quality of the notebooks I may return this again.

When I called the Dell people, they said they can replace the 460m and I can get the 580m for a difference, which was 550-600ish.

    Just lettin you know.

Why not get a 6970 or 6990 instead? You can get either for around $400.

6970 clevo version from RJTech is $550, 6990 isn't listed. Dell branded cards you are probably looking at $700-900/each`

Buy from pkhetan on the nbr marketplace. He sells brand new clevo cards for around the price I listed. You can also buy Eurocom 6970's from Eurocom for $440.

Same with me. I dunno - on one hand I don't really need anything that high-end, but I am unsure about the future. Plus I really like this screen, but the left side of the KB is flexing a bit and annoying when typing.

Return and get the 580 or keep the 460 and be happy...lol :p
