The first notebook to come with the new gen IPS screen (anti glare) 10-bit per primary color 30-bit in full RGB.
This is the screen I was dreaming to have in my M17x.
What do you think? Should I attempt a swap?![]()

That is a pretty impressive screen.
If you think you can swap and have the time/money, go for it
-
Agree I woud like to see this screen as an option Wow
-
Ok.... wow!
-
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
Does it require special drivers for 10-bit color or are the existing Catalyst drivers sufficient?
-
i must say VERY impressive, love the viewing angles.
although i'd rather have a 3d screen if i had the option. -
Most latest cards and drivers support the 10-bit mode,
but Windows is still behind, lol.
There's problem with Aero when enabling it, plus some strange issues on cold boot.
BTW, I keep it @ 8-bit and still, it's far beyond any other laptop screen I've ever seen.
If the connectors match the ones in our M17X, there's a hope
-
Keep us posted.
-
brb, need new pants.
pfft, that LCD eats viewing angles for breakfast lunch and dinner. It's great @ *any* angle
-
Yeah, with the angles and colors, all we need is to put it in a notebook with Clevo cooling and AW quality.... Dreams...
-
You should make a Franken-book.
AW chasis, with a HP screen attached and Clevo heatsinks. -
you're mad I say, MAD! -
lol, awesome movie (and musical)
-
This might happen soon
Good maaan!
-
woooowwwwwww.... that's amazing !!!!!
Ermmm, How many years it took them to put such an amazing display in a laptop? Any why?
Looking forward to see that type of LCD in many, many the laptops... that will be a true step forward -
Franken-book isn't going to happen any time soon...
The cables don't match, IPS panel has totally different connectors.
I want this screen in my AW M17x!
