    Hey all,

I was at Microcenter last night with the intention of getting one of the $130 Winbook windows 8 tablets to play with and I saw this Alienware laptop for $2,000 with a red tag showing demo model marked down to $1,287 then on clearance for $946. I kinda walked past it at first thinking it must be 900P and 765M or something like that but next thing I knew I was going through the specs and saw it was a 770M with 16 gigs of ram and 1080P. So I jumped on Ebay thinking Alienware prices had fallen, nope this same model is selling on average for over 1,300 so I bought it with the intentions to sell it but after playing with it for a while it's bringing back memories and I may keep it and just enjoy the good deal!

About 2 years ago I had an M17X with a 7970M and I loved it but someone offered me more than I paid for it back then so I sold and ever since then I have been buying laptops left and right for one that meets my desires. Well as you can see from my signature it has been a wild ride and there are some that aren't even listed there. I told myself I wanted Alienware performance at a lesser price and in a smaller form factor and I couldn't do it. Which is what probably drew me make to the laptop to check its specs.

I just couldn't help but share the deal. Yeah I know it's a 770M with the 900 series coming out but Alienware's seem to hold a high value for years after purchase. What do you guys think? Should I just hurry up and sell it before it falls in value add a couple hundred and buy a newer model :D

Happy to join the crew again.. at least for now :)

What processor does it have? If it's a quad core and it meets your needs, I'd say keep it. The 770M may not be as fast as your 7970M was, but it's still a decent GPU. Keep in mind a newer one, even if you sold that one, would cost you around $600-$800 more at least for a better model, depending on how much you get for that one.

Welcome back to our community. I guess the best thing to do is sell and profit ASAP and add a couple more bucks to get a new one.

Seems everyone has different opinions on what to do. I may just list it high and if it sells then it sells if not then oh well. Let the Ebay Gods decide. :)

And it has the 4700MQ processor.

Will the 900M series be the same socket? I haven't looked into them at all...
