I am trying to put in my new Killer Wireless-N 1102
I did according to the Youtube video, "How to install new RAM on Alienware M17x R3" (or somewhere along that line).
Back 2 screws followed by 5 screws was real easy, using my 1/16" Philips screwdriver.
Now I carefully popped open the thing around the keyboard, and was ready to unscrew top 5 screws, as the instruction said.
And HOLY CRAP (and that's a euphemism of what I really said). None of those 5 screws won't even flinch. I did everything in my power (I literally about crapped my pants trying to unscrew that crap), but it wouldn't budge (literally, not a bit).
Do you have a good tip on how to unscrew certain tough screws? Perhaps a different screwdriver? If so, what and what size and can I buy any of those in, say, Home Depot?

i had the exact same problem when installing my killer n 1103. i used a pair of needle nose pliers and grabbed the screws to turn them. my screw driver wouldnt budge them. was hard even with the pliers. cant say i recomment this method but its what worked for me. be careful, and once you get them started go back to the screw driver. they have blue locktite on them.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
It means the screwdriver you are using doesn't have enough torque to remove them or you are using a really crappy screwdriver. Pick up a set of Craftsman from your local Sears or order them online, have yet to find any computer screws it doesn't unscrew.

I agree with Tsunade_Hime, big chance you might also wear out the screw head specially if the screwdriver keeps on sliding (making near impossible to remove)

You don't want to strip the screw (if you haven't already). Doing so will basically force you to use a Dremel to cut it into a flathead or completely cut it off.

I personally stripped 2 of those screws while inserting my top ram cause they wouldn't budge. Try not to use a "hard" screwdriver but something "softer" (think stainless steel versus iron) and yeah, I managed to remove those stripped screws using a softer screwdriver I had by pushing downward with all my might and twisting.
Hope it helps for you.
I'm seething right now because I can't unscrew.
