    Hi guys.

    I currently have a m15x with 720 qm , 260 m, 6gb ram, 1600x900

Would I see a significant performance difference increase (or decrease) between my current laptop and a:

    m17 x r1 with core 2 quad q9300, sli 280m, 2 x 500gb 7200, 1920x1200.

i.e Will frame rates in games double due to the Sli? and would you guys buy a r1 m17x? - i would be saving money by buying the m17x and selling my m15x...

Or would i be better off buying a 256gb SSD for my M15x?

    Thanks

If its your spec vs R1 then yes you are behind by a distance...
It totally depends on the game how it reacts to SLI GPUs and how much games utilizes it..
Some games perform well on single GPU..
Now R3 is almost coming out...so no question on buying R1...
better wait for R3 if you really want to boost FPS.

Anyway..if you are comparing 720qm and QX9300 as in the title...
    I think QX9300 wins...

i7 720qm will actually perform better in applications that use single core because it can go upto to 2.8GHz
