Is there an adapter that will allow me to put an old IDE (44 pin) HDD into the Second HDD Bay in my M17x R4?

I have an external multi adapter, but was looking to install it internally.

I looked online but all of the ones I've seen look to large to fit inside the slot.

    Thanks for any information.

Uhh, that would be a no.

First, there's no room for an adapter to fit in between the hard drive and the SATA port. NO ROOM WHATSOEVER! Believe me, I've checked.

Second, why would you even want to use an IDE hard drive? PATA (IDE) is way slower than SATA and IDE hard drives are limited in their size. I think it's like 160GB or something close to that. PATA is an older standard. SATA is the current.

    Umm, thanks?

I understand that it is older, slower & has less capacity, but the fact is I already have it.

After having spent $3700 on the computer I'm not looking to spend more money right now.

It won't fit. Thanks for the answer.

As radji suggested, an adapter (few do exist) will not fit. But even if it would fit, its not worth it, both in terms of performance and price. Sata HDD`s are getting super cheap. I dare say you will be able to get similar/bigger HDD for the same price as the adapter and it would be much faster than IDE. So doesn't fit and is also not worth it :)
