I have spend quite some time trying to figure out why my system started hanging/lagging for 20 to 30 seconds after coming out of sleep. It ended up being IE9 while running an Alienware Advanced Theme. I come out of sleep fine running a Basic Theme - just not advanced. IE8 can do an Advanced Theme fine - but not IE9.
Just wondering if anybody else is experiencing this???

Well I'm not ie fans , I been using Google Chrome for pass few years. -
Thanks for your comment.
I was messing around today to see if there was a certain "program" that causes it - but no. I am unable to run any Advanced Theme without 20/30 secodnds of lag time coming out of sleep. This did not happen with IE8. As I mentioned, Basic themes don't do this.
What a bummer... my Advanced "light show" is kick azz indeed. Took me quite some time to set up that theme... I will miss it - but hangs/lags are enough to make you throw cr@p at the wall. I will not tolerate them. Not ever.

Thanks for the links... I will check it out.
Hopefully some an update in the future will address this problem. -
Every update to IE9 I enable Advanced Themes from the Command Center again to see if this issue is resolved. No
Just in case somebody from Dell reads this website - I hope you address this as running an Alienware Advanced Theme is certainly part of the fun of Alienware. Hopefully an update to the Command Center can take care of this so we can run IE9 and an Advanced Theme just like we did running IE8.
Just hoping...

Just a thought ~ I have had issues with this too~ it "seems" as if there is a limited amount of memory on the board, so the lights will not function right till the program loads up if a large theme was loaded, (they may function fine, but the program will think there is a problem)... and since they are not functioning right, the program takes longer to run, (but when loaded the theme will work fine). I had this issue when booting, I had to make my theme a bit smaller. worked for me, try to make the theme less "advanced". I know it suxXx... but it fixed my problem, (I just cant use my super-dooper advanced theme) hope it can fix yours...
...and oh yeah IE9 suxXx too. I killed it, and went for firefox.
P.S. pleas forgive my writing... had a bit to drink ^^; but wanted to help out as fast as I could -
Thanks for taking the time to share how you got around this. I did try a less advanced theme. I just did "one" thing. Then I set it to sleep and when it woke up IE 9 stalled and hung for about 20 seconds like before. I was actually able to run all my advanced themes with IE8.
So no joy, but once again thanks for your input(you did well, if you knocked a few back nobody could tell
)

This is working after upgrading and clean installing to Windows 8 Pro. But (isn't there always a "but") when you try to work in "Advanced Theme" and add an action you get this...
So I can't create anything "new." But I do have one theme I created a long time ago that is working. When I come out of sleep the internet does not stall out so there is a victory of some sorts here....
I really wish someone from Alienware would address this as it is a big part of the fun of running this system, creating light themes. And to do so "Advanced themes" needs to work and for me there has been something wrong with Advanced Themes since I purchased this machine. -
Please tell me that Internet Explorer is the only legit browser on Windows 8 at the moment........ otherwise.. -.-
