Sorry not totally relevant to the forum but as it is happening my alienware with intel 6300 wifi i thought i would post.
As the subject suggests I am seeing a fair amount of 'waiting for reply' most commonly on google.com and yahoo.com. It leaves me waiting on sporadic occasions for a few seconds before the site loads. Used to always be instant. It's not the wifi because I am lucky enough to be using a 5 ghz router to rule out interference. Also my connection is fibre (bt infinity) and fast. Is this just a typical case of Internet evening congestion? Anyone occasionally see the same? I use IE9, don't think Mozilla exhibits this same issue. It's very strange and like I say not a wifi issue as all my network shares, AirPlay (via iTunes) always works perfectly. It's only minor but annoying all the same. For what it's worth my speed is good. Speedtest.net always gives download of about 35 mbits and ping of 15ms. Am inclined to think IE9 is to blame but surely it would do this everytime if it was iffy. 95% pages are instant but every now I get this pause, spiny circle and sometimes spot the 'waiting for reply'. Maybe it's the norm but want to see if others see similar. Even logging into my router page can pause 2 or 3 secs before it loads. It only happens occasionally though. Seeing as Mozilla and other devices like iPad, iPhone are fine do you think it's an IE9 issue? Never used to happen as far as I can remember. I haven't added any new add ins or toolbars. Only change months ago was java updated but I am sure it was fine immediately after. Maybe an add in is causing this occasional delay though?
May or may not be related but I always look in the network sharing center to check my connection speed and signal strengths. The slight delay happens more often after just poking around in here. Once it passes IE9 then seems to run just fine! Odd huh?
Cheers,
Wayne
Well it's not add ins as I launched IE without add ins. Same sporadic pausing

Maybe it's just a bug from a recent Windows update for IE9, or perhaps the web page(s) you are attempting to load are on a slow or overloaded server. The fact that it seems to change for certain web sites makes me think your system may be OK and the one you are trying to connect with is not.
