So when i am on dedicated graphics my power draw is anywhere from 27-35 watts per hour but when i switched to IGPU i am using 45 watts. How does it dumb so high when i am on IGPU? Also TS and hwinfo show that package power is only 8-15 TDP in both. So how is it using more power in IGPU mode than dedicated GPU? Using 34 watts right now in dedicated GPU mod. Also i got my GPU at 1.075v and 900c 1400m. Mem always runs at 1400 since vbios edit. Also my screen is at lowest setting for all of them. Also the 45w draw on IGPU really makes no sense. I would have to be using a lot of GPU to reach that kind of draw.

The only thing I can think of is motor size. In electrical motors, a large motor with greater torque (but low horsepower) can do much more work than it's smaller sibling. The smaller sibling can match the work of its big brother but only by increasing the horsepower (not torque) and therefore require more amps to do the same amount of work.
Applying this to GPUs, I can only guess that your 7970m card doesn't require as much power at idle that your iGPU does because whatever your doing (graphics wise) uses less of a GPU load on the 7970m card than it does with the iGPU. For example, if your watching a blu-ray, this may only stress the 7970m card to a 10% GPU load, whereas the exact same process may stress the iGPU to a 20% GPU load. Higher load requires more power to be input for the same amount of work to be done. And we know the 7970m card is far faster than the iGPU, so it's not unreasonable to think the 7970m uses less power because it can do the same amount of calculations at idle that your iGPU does at 25% load. But that's just my observation.
As for actual causes: there's always the favored "check your drivers". Although I don't think you can update the Intel iGPU drivers with newer ones from the Intel site. That, or look in your running processes and see if there's anything going that could be putting a strain on your GPU. -

yea but total CPU TDP was still ~10 watts so how could i go up to 45 watts without CPU showing a huge load. Nothing else used that much juice. Unless for whatever reason on IGPU the dedicated GPU is still running.
IGPU graphics using more battery than dedicated GPU in R4?
