Basically I have a i7-2720 and 580m on a black r3. i also have a red r3 with 2670 and 560m. both are 3d. Basically i want the 2720 and the 580m into the red chassis because its so much sexier. Ill also switch the wifi and hard drives of course.

Is this a simple cpu/gpu swap? Figured I could do a paste upgrade while Im at it.

Yes it's a simple swap, if you don't want to repaste the GPU then unscrew it with the heatsink attached. You will have to repaste the CPU however. Gl

Appreciate it guys. Both machines under warranty i could care less as ill sell one and everything is fixable anyways.the red chassis is just so much more prettier and the leds are brighter under the keys too which i like.

i actually prefer the stealth black, as for the LED problem, you could of just swapped the keyboards and dell would of never known. but as far as I'm aware you have voided your warranty on both systems as they don't allow you to do anything to your CPU/GPU unless you've decided to change a warranty part yourself

whats so special about an r4? I actually am thinking once yet again to go back to an r2. I just miss playing my games in a non-stretched format. 1200p ftw
