    Hello all,
    I made the jump to a 3940XM from a 3630QM. I'm having an issue:

1- Each time I restart the computer, Intel XTU cannot re-adjust the Core current limit and sets it to 32.000A. This causes the CPU clock to be locked between 2.8 & 3.0 GHz no higher, AFAIK a 3940XM should hit 3.7 on all cores (stock). If I increase that value to 112.000A I can maintain 4.1 GHz during games and benchmarks.

Is there a way to boot with the stock speed of the 3940XM?
What causes the core limit to reset to 32.000A after each shutdown, restart ?
I'm running A13(stock). Do I need an unlocked Bios? TBH this is a very last resort.

    Cheers.

of course you need an unlocked bios, so can adjust all the proper power settings not shown in the stock bios.

Never mind mate. I reset the Bios a few times which did the trick. Now I can use XTU to overclock and the core current limit is set correctly after each startup. Not planning to go extreme, just a small boost :D

    Cheers.

Yes indeed, I remember you had the 3940xm before your AW broke down (sorry about that mate). What thermal paste did you use? retention mod, 10.4 CFM fan mod.
    Cheers
