Hello.
I have a new M17x-R4 with 64G mSSD + 1TB HDD.
Now I want to add another 1TB HDD. Is it possible? I have read somewhere that M17x R4 has 1 mSATA port + 2 SATA ports.
I want to make sure. Thanks.

Yes the R4 has 2 SATA 3 ports +the msata, also you can convert your disk drive into a another port for a HDD/SSD if you dont use it much
-
Finally, searched forever for this information. So, just to make sure - I can have a raid 0 set up with an ssd boot AND keep my disk drive?
Thanks. -
That's correct.
-
yes you can, 1 msata and 2 normal sata hdd, it's even possible to put in an optibay and get 4 hdd drives.
i have a msata ssd, 2 normal ssd and optical. -
hi, have any of you guys ever installed a mssd card?is it easily accessible?
i want to add 1 manually since i only have 500gb normal hdd in my system -
If you only need more storage, you can always add 1 HDD to your bay 1 since you only got 1 HDD. Remove your optical drive and put another HDD in is another option. Unless you strictly need mSata SSD to run your OS, otherwise, I don't see any need to install one at all.

well, actually i want to get a ssd for my primary boot drive and mssd for caching my normal hdd to fill all the spots that i have
, is it possible to do that?
-
Yes, it is...but I'm confused. Your OP states you have a 1TB HDD as well as an mSATA SSD, that is, I am assuming you mean mSATA SSD when you say mSSD and a single 1TB hard drive and not a RAID array, yes? If so, realize your R4 is configured to have two 2.5" notebook drives (SSD or HDD) and the mSATA SSD (mSSD). I might be misunderstanding your post so if I am just let me know.

Radji, they are two different people. This guy just jumped on out of nowhere...
To answer your question, yes, you can do that. But if I were you, I would replace my optical drive with a caddy drive and put the 500Gb HDD on it and do 2 SSDs on bay 0 and bay 1, especially when SS 830 256Gb was on sale for $170 the other day...
Installing 3rd HDD, M17x-R4?
