I want to install win 7 on my system that came with win8.1.
I have read that this is an UEFI system. Google gives me a lot of varied answers.

So what should i do to install Win7? I have an original product key and iso file.
Do i need to disable secure boot? Go into legacy mode? How will that impact my performance?

Do i need to make gpt partition, whatever that is..

I would greatly appreciate some pointers.

Just make an AlienRespawn backup on a USB thumbdrive as a safe measure for just in case you might need it to reset to a factory state. In windows Go to Pc settings > update & recovery > restart > UEFI settings > boot into BIOS and then set secure boot off with legacy boot on and done. Then format all the drives install win7 & enjoy . I did this on my machine which was shipped with that stupid win8.1 :hi2:
