Hi, I've been searching around the web and have all the latest drivers from Dell ready to be installed on my Alienware 17 I got a few months ago. I'm doing a clean install BTW. I am following this guide HOW TO: Clean Windows 7 Install (Driver Install Order) Guide for Alienware Systems
My only question is do I need the Intel DPTF driver? I haven't seen it in really any driver install order I have found online. If I should install this driver then where in this list should I install the driver? I've heard some say they are having trouble installing it and some are doing it right after the chipset and management driver installs.
Also I see that I have a rapid start driver as well but from what I can gather I shouldn't install that unless I have an SSD. Is the correct?
The last question I have is in the drive order the wireless drivers come before the Bluetooth driver. I have two wireless drivers. One is Qualcomm and the other is a Broadcomm driver but it has the Bluetooth driver included with it. Should I install both wireless drivers and if so should I do them back to back or wait until later in the install order to install the Broadcomm because it includes the Bluetooth driver?
Sorry if this is confusing....first time doing a fresh install on this machine.

Some systems won't require it, that's why they won't install. If after you have installed all drivers you still have an unknown device then you need the DPTF.
The IRST is needed if you have a RAID setup or are planning to use an mSATA as a caching device.
Which Wireless card and bluetooth card do you have specifically? -
I'm not worried about it anymore. I actually talked with tech support more and since I made the recovery disks when I first got the computer they told me to try throes and bam everything is back to factory with all drivers installed!
