Hello, this is my first post on the site :) I have an alienware m17x r3, and i am trying to update the n 6300 driver (05/25/2011)from dell site. The thing is, i have downloaded the .exe from dell's site but i get an error that say 'the software package cannon be installed to your system'.

    Can anyone help me?

I had the same thing happen when I tried to update the N 6230 driver on my XPS. I downloaded the driver update from the Intel site and it installed no problem.

I had the same issue and I also downloaded the driver off of Intel site.

The only other thing was I had to change the 802.11n channel width for band 2.4 from 20 Mhz only to auto to get the 300Mbps connection instead of 150Mbps one.

Odd - when I restaged mine I used the driver downloaded from Dell and had no problem at all.
