So, I have an interesting problem. Had a tech at the house today to fix my broken disk drive, sent by dell not just some random guy BTW. Went great, guy took apart the laptop and had the drive replaced no problem. Tested out a couple DVDs, all good. Guy leaves.
About 30 minutes later I realize my alienhead is the wrong color, cause it's running on battery. Check the adapter, it is in, and the tip is lit up as it should be. So yeah. For some reason it refuses to get power from the AC now. Have like 10 minutes left of battery which I'm holding onto for the phone call to dell support. No physical damage that I see.
I'm sure dell will take care of this, no problem, so I'm not too worried. Just curious, is there something on the inside of the laptop the tech could have just forgotten to plug back in? I hope he didn't fry something some how and it's just a chord somewhere, but looking through the service manual I don't see anything about a power chord. Guess I won't have a laptop for a while.

Try unplugging, removing battery, holding down power button for 30 seconds, an putting it back together. Might fix it.

Thought I'd throw out an update here. Called them two days ago. They were sending a tech over with a new battery, power supply, and motherboard. Tech was supposed to be here yesterday or today. Haven't heard anything from the tech. Since the work day is almost done, I decided to try calling Alienware and seeing whats up. Turns out their tech support is down for the day. So. Awesome...

Yeah I was all happy when they authorized a replacement LCD for me. Haven't heard from them for quite some time now despite me emailing them. Will need to call next week.
Interesting Problem
