Does anyone know where I might source one for a m17x r2? It's the flat right angle cable that joins the motherboard and i/o board.

I managed to tip some wine into my m17x, and brick it. I've found damage on that cable, so I'm hoping as a first step replacing the cable might help... then it's the motherboard :-(

I'm not really sure what part you're looking for, but you can try Parts People for your search.

Did you try getting in touch with Dell Spare Parts? They might have the part in stock that they can sell you. I think they can supply the parts even if the system is out of warranty. They just need the service tag. At the very minimum you probably will be able to get a part number that can be used to find the part elsewhere.

Good idea - they couldn't help, bar letting me know that it's a TMM14 assembly cable flexible printed circuit card reader, so some progress!
