    Hello!!!

Two months ago I bought an XBOX One Controller, plus the XBOX One Wireless Adapter for use with my AW 17 R5, this allow me to play with 4 friends (FIFA) on the same computer wireless, or when I want to play games and use headphones when playing alone by using the XBOX One controller, something that is not possible by only Bluetooth XBOX One afaik.

So, my intention was to install inside the Alienware the XBOX One Receiver, so here we go...

    Materials:
USB Cable (Can be use a USB Extension Cable, we will use only the cables.
Heatgun (this one is going to be use in order to remove the USB Port from the computer.
    Soldering Station, 60W is enough.
    XBOX One Wireless Controller Adapter
    Silicon Glue.

First we need to get access to the Internal components on the AW17, you can open it and this is a good chance for re-apply termal paste if you want to (to get access to the Right Side USB, you don't need to remove the heatsinks, just remove the top cover with the one with the keyboard)

A video if you need it:
    AW 17 Teardown:

Then, using a plain screwdriver, we will open the XBOX One Wireless Controller:

Then we need use the Heatgun and remove the USB Male Connector from the XBOX Wireless Receiver:

And with the Soldering Station, we attach the USB Extensión (only the cables you can use 30cms just to be sure:

I'm not allowed to upload more pics, so I will have to reply on this one to continue...

So, after this, you will need to use the soldering station:

Then, we have to remove the right USB Panel from the AW17 and by using the Heatgun, remove the USB:

    upload_2016-11-1_15-44-55.png
Then we will use the last 4 pins to connect with the Adapter:

Sorry for the picture, I did not take it without the tape, but you have to use the last 4 pins and connect them in this order with the solder station:
Black, Green, White, Red (Be sure to solder it with caution)

After this, you can send the reciver to the back part of the Alienware by using the hole for connect the keyboard and then use the Sillicon Glue to attach it to the CD Rom Drive:
    Note:
Please use Sillicon only on this part:

So after this, you are completed.

If you have questions, please let me know.

    Have a good one!
