People who have the R9 M290X alienware 17, is it decent? I heard a lot of people saying that AMD drivers are terrible, a lot of compatibility problems, fps problems, poor performance.

But I want to hear it from who really has it. I'm considering get an Alienware 17, and Canada alienware offers gtx 860m, 880m and R9. So, is AMD that far behind that I should consider gtx 860m over it, or R9 offers good performance for the price?

Pretty sure most of AMD's driver issues are long gone. When the 7970m first came out they had some pretty terrible driver support but as far as I know that has been fixed for quite some time. I have the 7970m in my last two R4's and never had any issues aside from the whole AMD intel integrated issue with the 7970m, but that wasn't an AMD thing I don't think.

I've got a 7970M and AMD drivers are ok.. It would help if they released more drivers as they usually release a stable one after 4 months and beta every month or 2...

Most of the problems were related to enduro or crossfire frame pacing.

The first you can turn off if you have issues, the second only concerns dual card setups, so you are sorted.
