I know some of you may dont like the low rez screen, but myself I dont care much about this, always got 1440 x 900 rez and I dont mind, for gaming its alright, anyway Getting better performance at this rez then at full hd.

Personally I find it not bad since I can upgrade to crossfire later on when I feel like the laptop is getting bad fps in future games.

Even if you don't care about the higher resolution, it's still worth going for the RGB-LED screen. The RGB backlights use less power, and produce a much brighter picture with more saturated colour.

A number of people on these forums have seen the CCFL and RGB-LED screens side-by-side, and all but one have said that the RGB screen completely blows the CCFL out of the water. Having compared it with the Samsung desktop LCDs I use at work, I can say that the difference is noticeable, and worth the extra cost.

Spend about 3-500 more from Dell outlet, and get the WUXGA RGB, and atleast 4870 xfire. Longest warranty you can afford.

Thanks for the reply but Like I said the screen for me is noth worth to dish another extra 500$

And why get crossfire with 4870 when a single 5870 can do the same duty? Having crossfire 4870 remove you the option to add another 5870 for more power.

For screen like you said, side-by-side, yes you notice a lot of difference but when at home you are not going to compare it with anything else.

Samething when you shop for a plasma/lcd, I got two plasma 40+" at home... yes when compared to high end models maybe the LG looks not as good then the panasonic on the right but once you have it in your living room you dont notice it at all.

You probably have not experienced rgb, and I can tell you it's well worth it
I doubt single 5870 is identical to 4870xfire

I'm not here to argue with you on how much it's better. If those jumps don't matter to you, you probably wouldn't mind going with a single 4870, or lesser cards.

My configuration pumps out 15k+ on 3dmark06 out of the box.

I added my input since I'd rather spend 1.5-7k on my configuration than what's on your original post. Either way, you wanted some input, and I provided one.

Why did you bother asking if you think you know it all in the first place? Either way, I'm done here wasting my breath(?).

I like your input, ive been lookin on dell website and I cant find a spec like you or mine under 1899.99 on dell.ca

The same exact spec posted on the laptop at 1250 is at 1899.99

If I add Led its +300
and there's no crossfire for 4870 only 5870 which is another 300$

Unless I try to find another deal on ebay. If I buy new its going to cost me more then 1.7k and that doesnt even include taxes.

Hmn I was assuming you were shopping on Dell outlet in the U.S.

Not sure how Dell Canada works, or even have dell outlet.

Ebay or Craigslist might be a better way to go like you said.

There are some great deals that can be found on craigslist if you are lucky, but always becareful of scams, and double check the service tag, and transferability.

Unlike the desktop variants, the HD5870m is actually very close in performance to the HD4870m. That is because the HD5870m is based off of the desktop HD5770. The HD4870m is based off of the... HD4870.
