Is there a guide to consult so I can make sure everything was installed properly?

if you click F12 on boot up, you can run the diagnostics in the BIOS. It checks to see if all your hardware is running ok

Did it come with Optimus? Or did you use the modified A04 bios to remove it?
What's the current driver on the gpu?

You could always try running programs like Furmark for 20+ minutes to see if the gpu and fan is working fine. Use GPU-Z or HWInfo to see if that portion is right.

There's also different variations of a program called memtest86, you can try using that to test ram. Test those two, and if those are fine, nothing should be wrong.
