Pretty much what the title says. I need either one but I'm not sure which. Anyways I can further test this out?

If you're talking about diagnosing a faulty LCD panel as opposed to a faulty LVDS cable, I'd imagine the only real way to determine which is bad would be to try a different LVDS cable. It'd be cheaper that buying a panel only to find out it's the cable.
Does the panel work at all? - more specifics from you would be nice, such as your AW model/spec, description of the issues you are having etc. You might just need to reseat the LVDS cable and not spend a thing.....had you tried doing that at all?? -
As Stevie suggested, your best bet would be to pull the machine apart and reseat the LVDS cable and hope that solves your problems. If it does not help at all then you probably have a more serious problem.

Often LVDS cable problems will also be intermittent and will change with the angle of the screen.

What Meaker suggests is correct, usually when something is wrong with the cable it'll be related to the position of the machine and will not be constant.
