I am mulling over whether or not to buy this config from Alienware:
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
Intel® Core i7 720QM 1.6 GHz (2.8GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
1 Year Basic Service Plan
CrossfireX 1GB ATI Radeon Mobility HD 5870
17-inch WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 RGB LED (1200p)
4GB Dual Channel Memory (2x 2GB DDR3)
250GB 7,200RPM SATA-II HDD
Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)
Wireless 1520 802.11n Half Mini-Card
Lunar Silver - Anodized Aluminum
The price plus shipping, tax and EPP discount is $2433.77.
What do you guys think about the price?
-
You could do better in my opinion...unless that's not USD?
-
Sorry, didn't mention that before. It's in USD.
-
not even close to "decent". if u r in US, get help from other US member here, u will achieve a better deal
-
Yeah I got
Nebula Red | i7 720QM | Windows 7 Home Premium | 250GB 7200RPM | 4GB 1066 MHz | Crossfire ATI Mobility Radeon 5870 | 1920x1200 RGB LED
and a year of advanced care for 2400.
I can give you the representatives info if you would like -
BTW, I did read over Joker's Wiki on how to order the M17x. I'll still appreciate any other help. -
what the heck are you guys smoking? This deal is DECENT. What do you mean "not even close to decent"? $2400 after tax for that is a decent deal.
-
I had the same config with the upgraded wireless, 3 years accidental, and an Orion backpack for 2500 before taxes and shipping. You can do better.
-
Actually, NEVERMIND. It's not decent. I configured the same spec on the website and it came out $2757.47 (after CA tax). You can do better! You should aim around minimum 15%. If time isn't much of an issue for you, keep calling different rep. Once someone gives you 15% off or so, tell him/her that you need couple days to think about it. Either he/she will get you a bit more off or will call you back in few days. Inbetween, call more reps and ask them you got a quote of this much and was wondering if you can take off a bit more. I tried this for 3-4 days and I was able to get 22% off.

Yeah, rep info might be nice. But I guess I'll have to start calling soon.

Is this a decent deal on the M17x?
