Hi guys I have a question, a buddy of mine is selling an R2 WITH THE FOLLOWING UPGRADES:

    1920x1200 rgb led
    I7 920xm extreme edition
    8gb ram
Dual AMD ATI 6990m xfire... The GPUs are brand new from dell
    480 watt power brick...

My question is: for $1200 is this a good deal? Also they are shipping the crossfire cable to him this week but the GPU'S are already installed on it.

Another question is, will I run into any kind of incompatibility problems with the drivers or anything of the sort?

Thanks for any response will be greatly apreciated :D

I think it is a great buy. Something like this is priced at least $2000 on EBay. Some EBay seller may ask for $4300. It is a steal for $1200.

Why are you buying it if you already have an M18x with those specs?

If the cards are Clevo, then you won't have any problems except for active display port functionality not working.

If the cards are Dell, then the fans will be stuck on high but active displayport may work.

He's referring to the Display Port output on the laptop.

Yes, but the (DP) Display Port is the only port able to output 120Hz.

You can still use passive display port - i.e. plug a monitor into the displayport with a passive adapter and it will work fine.

You won't be able to use active displayport which means things like eyefinity will not work with more than 1 external monitors since one of the monitors has to be run through an active displayport.
