Hi I just called dell to renew the warranty on my M17XR2, they want to charge me 310 dollars for 1 year of warranty with accidental protection included.

My system;s specs are: i7920xm, dual 4870's 8gb ram, 620 gb harddrive, windows ultimate. 1080P RGS LED screen......

Thanks guys, is this a good price?

seems like a good price, for my r3 I got the same thing (warranty extension) for around $250 (haggled down from $400), but it took many calls and much time. If you want you can try and haggle with them, and maybe get it down some more, like $250.

That seems high to me. I only paid $318 on my original purchase for TWO years of advanced coverage. Definitely try to haggle the price down. I'm sure they'll negotiate it.

The Alienware reps quoted me $327 for my R2. So your initial quote seems reasonable. Try haggling it down under $300.

EDIT: Typo, meant to say get it under $300, I don't think they'll let you renew a warranty for under $200.

I recently extended my warranty for my R2 (specs in signature) and Dell charged me 368 for 2 years on site with a 75 dollar Dell gift card, that is all I can bargain down to.

    Definitly a good price.
Got Eur 220 for 1 year and 440 for 2 years for my R3, with no hope to lower the price at all... poor european alienware consummer.
