I have a m11xR2 for a little over 1 year now and I feel i need an upgrade to something with power. With my B-day coming up soon I thought I could upgrade to either m14xr1 or m17xr3.

I have a couple of question, is this an r3 or a r2 model? is it worth the $1,699 price tag, or should I just customize something with Alienware/Dell?

You will regret the 1600x900 screen it comes with.

    ya, i completely second this.

You want to get the 1920x1080 screen.

So is that laptop a good deal @ $1699 plus maybe tax and shipping?

The answer is no. You can definitely get a better deal.

Just to put things into perspective, my laptop (look at specs) was $1679 (not including the SSD and extra ram)...and some of the forum members here got better deals than me

Yea, don't get it with the 900p screen. Make sure you get the 1080p, you will be disappointed if you don't.
