    Hello,

I just received my brand new M17x r2 with 900p ccfl screen(because rgb led was not available).

The problem is as seen in the picture, there is a border at the bottom which is brighter than the rest of the screen. Is this normal? since it is a duel ccfl screen I would expect the top to have the same bright border.

Nope. Your screen is absolutely fine. :D
That is the backlight bleeding through the bottom of your screen. My Macbook Pro has it, my Envy 14 had it, its normal.

This bleeding is very visable even when viewing bright images, is this covered by the warranty since not all m17x has this problem?

    Thanks in advance

I don't know but i would give Dell a call about it.
I heard that a few members here had the same "issue" but don't know what they did. I have both the R1 and R2 and there's no bleeding at all.
