Guy near me is selling this Alienware 17 with a 4930MX cpu

Alienware 17 Haswell Gaming Notebook Custom +i7-4930MX +780M

I offered him 1700 and he is willing to take it. The laptop has warranty with Dell until Sept 24th of this year. He sent me a ton of pictures and looks great. The laptop originally had a 4700mq cpu but he bought it from BTOTech.com in which they put in the 4930mx. You guys think this is worth checking out and buying??

Considering that 4930xm's are going for $900 it does seem to be a good deal

He has a picture of the AW 17, then a picture of the M17x R4. That's odd... I'm willing to bet this guy knows nothing about Alienware laptops and just bought it because it's "cool" to have one. I'd go see it in person first to make sure it's functioning properly. The price seems too good to be true.

"Good condition" to people on Craigslist means: it turns on. :D Is it worth getting? Can't answer that. Is it worth checking out? Yes.

Trying to see if I can check it out today. Guy seems desperate to sell since everyone else has crazy lowballed him or have been fishy in terms of how to pay.

Good luck with the purchase. If the Alienware is in mint condition it is indeed a great deal.

I don't get it though... its New in box, yet the warranty expires in September? That seems odd to me... has it been sitting on a shelf since last September or what?

Some people buy a laptop and other things happen in life (family emergency overseas, different state, etc).

Have not heard back from him. So either he sold it to someone else or I dunno. Maybe it was good not to bother with the guy.
