I have been trying to troubleshoot MSI afterburner while overclocking my 7970m. Initially I was having driver issues with OC'ing. A full clean OS install resolved that problem however.

However, my problem recently has been MSI afterburner freezing my system upon opening the app which occurs in this scenario: I get a game (Crysis 2 in particular) crash. If I reopen the game, I will see ridiculous artifact. Following a system reboot, MSI afterburner cause a screen freeze as soon as I open the app. I found that uninstalling/reinstalling, and making the .CFG changes will fix the issue until I get another game crash. For me this has only been a Crysis 2 specific problem.

Has anyone else had a similar issue, either with this game or others? Or just issues the MSI afterburner causing lock ups? It has become very annoying. I did an extensive search online, but couldn't find anyone having consistent freezing issues.

Otherwise (avoiding Crysis 2), MSI afterburner works well with BF3, and GPU scores with 3d mark 11 are 6100 at 930/1350.

Can you guys give some input?

    Other info:
    A)driver: 9.001_September4_7900_MOD
B)Card: Eurocom 7970m - dell version with stock eurocom vbios
    C)MSI afterburner v 2.2.4 w/ added atipdlxx.dll, installed using Slickdude's instructions

Sorry dude, I still don't understand. Wouldn't I also have to do a registry edit to enable overdrive in CCC according to Mr. Fox's guide for the 6990m?

Sorry if I am being a noob, but can you be more specific?
