Ordered my m17x on 10/13/2012 and I was supposed to receive it 11/5/2012 but now it has been updated and pushed back to 11/9/2012, anyone have any info on why they changed it? I know they had an issue with power bricks but last I checked they received them. When I talked to them the day before it was updated they told me there were no issues and I should receive it on the 5th. Anyone have any suggestions on what to say and how to ask what is really going on. According to a support agent the hurricane did not effect my laptop. Wondering if anyone is having the same issue as me. If it helps here was what I configured,

You tried chatting with online order support (not the sales one) they should be able to tell you what parts are holding up your production. i ordered mine on the 15 oct and its due to be delivered tomorrow 1 day before EDD.

Yeah I have tried that but no real information, they have a dell specialist calling me tomorrow. It is just strange when they tell me " it is being package as we speak" to being pushed back 5 days.

Ok good luck, I know the base and lid (casing of the laptop) was holding up production when my computer was being built. I hope you get your computer soon. I know how bad the wait can be. It depends on who you speak to, my order support online chat agent (not the sales one) was very nice, they kept me up to date, making phone calls and emails to keep me up to date as to when it went into production and was shipped.

    Theres a thread here
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m17x/630192-m17x-order-status-discussion-part-4-a-302.html

that may be more helpful seeing if anyone else is in your same situation, I guess since the storm it may have affected the nameplates? or delivery. Just a guess though. I think I have seen a couple of people ordering mid october and they had their order pushed back.

You bought 32GB of ram from dell?

Seems an expensive way to do it.

As far as I've heard, the most recent cause for delays has been the 680M
