I have an R1 with 4870's. I am running Catalyst 10.5's. I have no issues with the 10.5's currently. I have also successfully run 10.3's and 10.4's.

There is, however, an issue that has come up a couple of separate times that is 100% driver/driver install related. It happened 3 times on separate fresh installations of Windows 7 64 bit when going from one 10.x driver to another. I have been able to correct the issue previously by reverting to the drivers from the Dell site first, before trying to upgrade to the desired driver.

Just to be clear; I uninstall the ATI drivers, boot to safe mode, run Driver Sweeper, restart and then install the new driver.

This is the problem: In certain cases after upgrading the driver, I am unable to OC the 2nd GPU. I've been able to fix it previously, but not with 10.6.
I use AMD Clock Tool 0.9.26. (but have tried Afterburner and Rivatuner also)

When I am having no issue. This is what the "Thermal Sensors" tab looks like:

When I am having this issue, it looks like this:

I can OC the first GPU without any problem when it is this way. There is also nothing else that seems to be wrong when they install this way. Crossfire works fine, clock speeds raise to the appropriate clocks on both GPU's when a 3d app is open etc.

Has anyone had a similar issue that knows how to deal with it? The only method for correcting it that has worked for me previously is not working for the 10.6 drivers.

I play lots of BFBC2 and this release finally fixes the load bug for Mobility users. So that is why I am determined to upgrade.
