Well I dived in after hesitating over a tower with a 5970 or a laptop . Its mt birthday and I have been wanting one since their first release end of 2008 with the 8800MGTX
But I figured I would be hooking it up to my 46inch Samsumg LED via HDMI from time to time so portability would be good.

After resding about the SC II issues and 10.7 issues I decided it was minior and dived in any way after reading the informative posts.

    This is what I got
    M17xR2
    Core i7 740 (1.73Ghz turbo to 2.93)
    1TB Raid 0 HDD
    6GB RAM
    Dual ATI 5870
    Dell™ Wireless 1520 802.11n Half Mini-Card17.0"
    WUXGA 1920 x 1200 - Beyond HD (1200p) - RGB LED

    Space Black

Just the base config but upgrade to dual 5870.
Good enough for all games I think for the next 3 years.

    cheers

Yeah paid 3046 AUD for it which 2793 USD straight currency exchange.
BUT we pay more purchase tax (GST) which is 277 dollars added into the total.

Just looked my configb in US dollars , almost the same !! at 2573 USD , dont feel too ripped off then

Congrats but if you wanted an M17x, you could have purchased mine for $3000 shipped with the specs in my signature (minus the SSD).

Nice, you'll be very very happy with your machine. It should definitely be capable of playing every game for the next 3 years at least.

Why are you selling it? Just wondering...
