    Just bought the AW 17, how long should I expect to be waiting?

    I just bought the AW 17 for my first Alienware. It seems that there are some very long EDD for these machines. I am not sure if they actually are that delayed or if these are just extremes to cover Dell from being late. I was just wondering what other peoples wait times were for a similar system. My specs are:

    i7-4700
    16 gb RAM
    750 HDD (have SSD waiting)
    GTX 780
    Windows 8
    Full HD


    Thanks in advance, cant wait to finally game on an Alienware.

    I ordered my AW 17 on Sept 17th received it October 3rd.
    Mine was the base model with the GTX 765, 750Gig HD.
    .Love this laptop by the way...

    They did give me an EDD and it has changed four times, it went from Oct 27th to Nov 3rd to Nov 2nd to Nov 4th. I cant really figure out if these were accurate or not as a month seemed like a long time. From the looks of the other posts 3 weeks seems about the average.

    Similar experience here. I'm in Canada, ordered Sept 13th, received it yesterday (Oct 9th). The had estimated Oct 18th. In fact, on my ordrr page, it still shows as being in production..... :)

    I put my order in on the 1st of October and the current EDD is the 24th which includes next day delivery. Though I tend not to trust the site as I bought a printer from Dell a month ago and got an email telling me it had shipped a day after it had been delivered.

    I ordered mine on 25th of september and edd is 22nd of oct. I have a question though. Why they dont have more shipping options in Canada ? Even I tried calling dell and they say the only shipping option they have in canada is the damn purolator which is very slow.

    I ordered my first AW17 from HIDevolution in 8th of Sep, I phoned them yesterday and they still waiting for it from Dell, they expecting it by end of next week plus couple of days in their place for upgrading. Therefore, I think I have to wait for at least 10 days to be shipped.

    It is kind of difficult to understand the exact delivery date I am seeing. It took about 4 days to get my order through since I had an original order cancelled for no reason and then the AW team was having "technical difficulties" on a Sunday so the order was placed monday morning. They said they put expedite on my order so maybe that helps. The issue I am seeing is that these systems are not being updated correctly in the order status, many of the orders are being delivered before the status is even changed to shipped. I will just check back time to time with the alienware reps to see if they can update as needed. Currently at 16 days :) it will be here soon!!!!

    Hopefully yours gets expedited. Mine was expedited and it was built and shipped from the factory (to the USA) in 10 days, and then delivered soon after that.

    Apparently mine has shipped now, though it's coming via 2 day delivery despite having been bumped up to next day delivery :mad:
