Ok I just got it right now and I checked everthing and everything seems to be the way it should be. Anyways heres where i need help. I have a 64GB SSD and i want to make that as my boot drive. Windows 7, alienfx and whatever came with the hd to be on that ssd how do i do that? Also what happens to the recovery partition? Should I just do a fresh install on the ssd? THANKS!
Update: Just found out that I didnt get the interposer but just got dell to send me one but will take about 5 days.

If you haven't loaded up your current disk yet (i.e it has less than 50 GB on it), then I'd say to just clone it to the SSD then use the SSD as your boot. I personally run all my apps & docs on my SSD (have an OCZ 240 GB) & keep my music, videos, etc on the HDD (but the HDD still has my OS as an emergency backup).
If you've already got a lot of "stuff" on your HDD - then my advice would be to do a clean install on the SSD - then manage your stuff accordingly. Good Luck! -
i wouldnt clone a standard hdd to an ssd. me thinks that would mess with trim etc.
as i think when win 7 is installing it detects the ssd and adjusts accordingly.
best just fresh install -
I did that on my work Lenovo with the drive I'm using in the M17x and it does not load windows. It errors out really really fast though :S

While I have lots of positive things to say about fresh installs - I can say that cloning under the criteria I described works fine (and trim is enabled by Win 7). We've done this on more than a couple of MX17's and several more laptops (mostly high-end Toshiba's)
