    Hey everyone --

I've been a mac user (and convert) from 2008ish -- and after the issues with OSX Lion -- I was done. I purchased my m17x R3 last week and it came last night :)

It was $1328 Shipped from eBay (Dell Sealed Refurb)
    Came with...
    Intel i7 2.0Ghz Quad
    4GB RAM
    320GB HDD (7200 RPM)
    AMD 6870m
    Standard DVD Writer
and to my surprise...it came with WiMax!

    Before it came I ordered:
    8GB RAM kit
    (2) 750GB WD Black drives
    (1) Blu ray drive
    Total $266

So I made some upgrades (now with 12GBs of RAM) and I installed the BR drive -- which was a pain in the to install (Pretty much took the whole laptop apart.)

Anyone want a Sandy Bridge MBP? :p

Congrats on the new m17x.. I'm looking forward to owning one soon. What issues were you having with OSX Lion? My sister has a MBP and swears it is 10x better than any PC...

Everything ive read concerning problems related with Lion have been with the RAM. Most older machines had a max of 2GB RAM and with Lion 4GB is what you need.

I made the switch from a macbook pro to the m17x as well, anyone know of some good programs to effortlessly migrate my documents/pics/etc back to windows?

Holy crap I almost forgot I made this thread, I've been too busy enjoying my laptop :p

Thanks for the positive thoughts everyone. So far I'm really really happy with it. Does anyone use a timbuk2 bag to carry it? My 15" inch bag barely fits it in the main compartment.

I used MacDrive 8 to migrate all of my data over -- I would recommend it.

I had issues with booting (I'd have to restart it 3 or 4 times for it to boot), constant freezing -- a number of issues. And I ordered one off ebay -- $46. Don't buy it there. I think mine was the CA10N
