seems like a very good deal to me! Similar configuration seems to run around $2400 after taxes.
-
Okay.
Now to obsessively read every single thread on the planet for a week until it gets here. -
Kickass deal!
-
Amazing deal. Same laptop I want but with an extra GPU.

Check your order confirmation for what the part number of the Blu-ray ROM/DVDRW drive is. Of the two M17xR2's from the Outlet I've ordered in the past week, both said they were BD-ROM/DVDRW but they are both BD-RE (burner) drives, worth quite a bit more money!
Let me know the part number and description. You get it off your order confirmation email (not the acknowledgment).
UPDATE:
It should be either this:
Slot Load Blu-ray Disc Combo (DVD+/-RW & BD-ROM) R0N0R (which is a BD-ROM reader/DVDRW combo)
or this:
Slot-Load Dual Layer Blu-ray Combo (BR-ROM, DVD+/-RW, CD-RW) CDKX3 (which is actually a BD-RE burner/DVDRW combo)
The key to tell if you will get a Blu-ray burner seems to be if the description included "Dual Layer". If so, on the very last page
before you submit your order, look at the parts list, and you'll see "CDKX3", which equals a 4X Panasonic BD-RE Burner (UJ-235A). -
Good deal, congrats. But why did you get the M17x when you already have a G73?
-
I actually didn't realize until you said something that it had a BR drive so that's just icing.
it's R0N0R. Hopefully this drive has RPC and riplock firmware available. Happen to know exact model? -
Mostly I'm just a sucker for blinky lights and new toys. -
I picked up this config last night for $1800+change after 15% off (see below). I think I'm going to return my M17xR2 Nebula Red Ultimate Beast that I have now, since it won't boot on battery. After using it for a few days, I'm leaning towards the thought that having the fastest-of-the-fastest isn't all it's cut up to be. It runs warm doing practically anything, the fans come on when doing practically anything, and I have an annoying EEEEEE-EEE-EE-EEEEE sounds coming out of it. For the price I paid ($3200, but it's worth $5300 new and it is in as new condition), I think it should be closer to perfect. This replacement (below) will be (for my intents and purposes) "close enough" to my red one with the addition of an SSD for HDD0 and a 500GB Hybrid SSD/HDD for HDD1, especially since it's about half the price (minus the SSD and Hybrid SDD/HDD). But, I have a bit of time to consider and make a final decision on what I am returning.

Quick question.
I have these two items listed.
1 H608T MOD,HD,500G,7.2K,SGT-HOLL,XLOB
1 HYT0K Module,Bracket,HDD,FOAMKIT,M17X
Does that mean the 2nd bay HDD bracket is included? The first item sounds modular like it's already including it's own bracket.
Also to the BR drive question above I have this listed
1 R0N0R MOD,DVDRW/BD-ROM,HLDS,BARE,ANW
Pretty sure that makes it a Hitachi - LG drive. Just need to find a model number. -
I assumed it was the 2nd drive bay caddy. Not sure what the "FOAMKIT" is, unless they put a foam "dummy" in the bracket (for what reason, I'm not sure). -
Just got my tracking number. I'll have it Friday.
3 days from order to ship isn't bad at all. This was the free shipping too. -
Laptop just came in. It's an outlet laptop so it didn't come with any of the alienware branded extras (hat, etc.) but the laptop looks brand new. Its SSD won't be here until tuesday unfortunately. Oh well it's a tough life.
-
I'm sure you saw, but that part is the 2nd caddy and "FOAMKIT" is a foam insert in the 2nd caddy that has the screws and interposer for the 2nd drive. Nice!
Just snagged this from outlet. Opinion?
