After a failed attempt to update the Nvidia drivers to the latest version, I had to go back to using the ones off Dells website. It was tons of fun being I couldnt get windows to load for a while either. Now that its all back running and such though the brightness of the monitor goes back to zero after a reboot. I have to hold FN 7 again to turn it back up. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to solve the issue. That way the brightness does not have to be readjusted every single time its rebooted. Thanks in advance for the help.

Go into control panels, enter power options, whatever power plan your on select change plan settings, then go to the bottom and click restore default settings for this plan. Then click OK to get out of the control panel. Try restarting to see if the changes stick.

Thanks for the idea. When I got to the power options it said it couldnt find my power plan. After poking around a bit its all fixed now. Works like a champ again. Still not sure why the system had issues with installing the Nvidia drivers though. My laptop has been running the same version for weeks now. Just plain odd.
