Sometimes when I start up windows and once when using it, the keyboard buttons failed to register when I tap on them. I have to restart the laptop and then the keyboard works. This is even after reconnecting the keyboard to ensure it is properly connected to the motherboard.

Have any of you encountered this issue and is there a fix?

Doesn't sound right, obviously. Hmmm... If you have re-seated the keyboard connections (both AlienFX and actual keyboard), I'd say contact support. Could be looking at a simple keyboard replacement or at worst, a replacement motherboard.

I doubt reflashing the system BIOS (A09) would make a difference, but you could try that as well.

Thanks Batboy. I think I'll reflash the A09 bios and see what happens. Originally this issue never happened and could have started after the initial flash to A09

I dont believe the BIOS flash could have an impact here - the keyboard cable is very 'fragile' - it can be damaged easily. One of your re-seating attempts may have tweaked it. Definitely give them a call if its still acting up. :(
