    Is it possible to configure Alienfx on the keyboard so as to remain lighted even when an external mouse is plugged in?

    If you uninstall synaptics then both will stay enabled and on. If you want it to be on or the light then I usually just hit Fn + F12 to bring back the touchpad light.
