Just thought I'd post my own stupid mistake in case anyone else does this.
Yesterday I upgraded my internet connection from copper to fibre. From 4mbps to a projected 40mbps. Well, after the upgrade I was getting exactly the same throughput (4.2mbps). Went through all the ISP hoops to find out why then I noticed that it was VERY consistent so it looked like throttling. Then I thought if there could be anything at my end causing this - oh, never really looked at this app (killer) as it was a freebie upgrade from dell and just seemed to work. It was throttling down everything based on the settings of my original line. Re-run the line-test and got my new big bandwidth - doh!

Yep, the Killer Network Manager distributes your bandwidth across programs but only if it knows your internet speed. If it still thinks you are on 4.2MBps then it will only allow that much through. I usually manually set it in the settings.
On another note, moved, and now I have 100MBps aaaaaw yeah! -

No you haven't. I haven't done any tweaking lately. The GTX 680m Dell version is officially gimped. Swapped out to a 4GB version and it works well. Awaiting the i7 3940XM now for overclocking. Testing the A05 modded bios at the moment with some 1866Mhz ram running 9-10-9-27

Damn, jealous. I want a FiOS connection. Ours seems to be FiOS to Copper connection.
I'm only getting a solid 10MBPS. I want more!!

Ahh the delights of Telecom customer service in the US - they don't tend bother with customer service. I always gave VZ a strapline of 'We're so big, we don't care'. Very dodgy practices as well (not VZ specifically). I managed to get an 'undisclosed sum' out of an 'undisclosed global provider' for an 'undisclosed illegal practice' I discovered. 'Here, take this check and shut up' NDA. -
