Im planning to purchase an M17x from hidevolution. Hidevolution offers ram upgrade with 16gb Kingston Hyperx 1600mhz which is about $100 cheaper than manufacturer ram upgrade (16gb 1333mhz). Does anyone know why 16gb ram with 1600mhz speed is cheaper than 16gb 1333mhz?
Which option should I go for? Im interested in the Kingston Hyperx 16gb 1600mhz installed by HID but Im not sure if the upgrade will affect the performance of the m17x.
Or should I go for manufacturer ram upgrade? which one works the best on the system?
    I need some advice
    thanks

You should buy the RAM yourself. Will be plenty cheaper and it is easy to install if you can turn a screw driver. Plus, you can get 1866mhz RAM as well.

Why do you need 16GB? What do you plan on doing?

well, the m17x im going to purchase has a CPU corei7 2820QM which support 16gb ram and bus 1600mhz. That's why I wanna go for maximum specification to optimize the performance of the system. I dont wanna leave any extra room because that's such a waste.
installing 1866mhz ram is a waste of money because the cpu's bus is up to 1600mhz.

Also aftermarket upgrades done by HE that are not available thru Dell are not covered by Dell's warranty!
You should do the upgrades by yourself IMHO.Get the base HDD and RAM and buy whatever SSD/HDD and RAM you want yourself, in this case you're covered as you can put the originals back.
