I ended up getting this SSD for around $95.00 for the 128gb version. I'm coming from a 5400 HDD, but I'm concerned I got jipped because of the spec's, when I should have gotten the kingston hyper x. I plan on using the SSD as my main drive and the 5400 SSD as my storage. Any opinions you all have would be great.

    Kingston SSDNow V200:

    Max Sequential Read
    Up to 300 MB/s
    Max Sequential Write
    Up to 190 MB/s
    4KB Random Read
    Up to 36,000 IOPS
    4KB Random Write
    Up to 2,500 IOPS

Yes, the HyperX is a better drive but anyway even the slowest SSD Is faster than the quickest magnetic HDD.
    Also that's a good price ;)

I think you should keep it. I have two SSDNow V+100 (Toshiba controller) running 24 x 7 for the last six months without any problem. And they are fast! In AnandTech's review, the V+100 performs well under their realistic benchmark.

V200 is the latest model (JMicron controller) and is supposed to be much faster than the V100 and V+100 models (very confusing naming scheme). In fact, I just ordered two SSDNow V200 128GB. Time will tell how reliable they are; I can't wait.

Regarding Kingston HyperX, it uses SandForce controller, which is very fast but not as reliable, based on reviews and my personal experience with OCZ Vertex 2 (died after 8 months of light usage). Of course, everyone has their own experience and opinions. SandForce uses a compression algorithm (which is great) but its performance is only so-so when it comes to non-compressible data (video, MP3, media files, encrypted, or encoded files, etc)

Based on my experience with my V+100, I am willing to give v200 a shot. Personally, reliability trumphs speed any time. Bottomline, I love my SSDNow.

    Good luck.
