I just ordered the R3 today and don't expect it to come any time soon. Here are the specs:

That's the shipped price and thankfully no tax.

I had sold a w870cu and a 920xm and pretty much got back what I paid for it in the end, lol. Not to mention the months of use I got out of that thing. Buying used paid off this time around I guess because I can now upgrade to a SB laptop for cheap. Great deal on the EPP and thanks guys for letting us know about it.

Now I have been an avid spokesperson for the quality of Clevo laptops and this is my first experience with Alienware. I wanted to go with Clevo because I know what I'm getting, a quality, reliable gaming laptop that will last a decade.

I tailored my laptop for pure fps gaming in mind. 1600x900 screen, 6970m, 2820qm:

Just following the philosophy of you can never go wrong with a better gpu/cpu. I also use an external monitor a lot as well. Hopefully the 1600x900 screen will be of decent quality. I will post the results when I get it.

I think the benches of the 2820qm seem really promising. It is keeping up with an i5-2500k at times. Now I know the 2720 is probably about the same but it was a $119 upgrade. Maybe not worth it but whatever. Couldn't seem to order the bag I wanted on the EPP site. Oh well.

It's a no frills set up I know, no blu-ray, no full hd monitor, etc. I'll probably put more ram and get it to 8gb. I have an extra 5400rpm laptop around so I'll probably just use that to install a ubuntu OS.

I will be posting a review and will compare it to the Clevo. I am very unbiased in my reviews.

how in the world did you get it with no tax and at that price? I have the same exact config only with a 1920 x 1080 plus a ultimate n card and my price was 2300....

Through epp discounts...you can get it if you are a student, Triple A member, or military.

I'm guessing you probably got the AAFES discount based on what you posted earlier didn't you? If so EPP discounts are usually no where near as big as the AAFES discounts :(
