    Knowing what version M17x I have to upgrade the screen?

    The issue I'm having is the screen resolution isn't that great and i wish I had got the better screen. However from what I can see I may be able to replace the the current one with the better one. If I'm wrong, let me know, otherwise I'm trying to determine the version I have and it seems it depends on when it was produced and mined was deployed 11/25/14. I can't see why I couldn't do this, so again let me know either way.

    You can use Aida64 (free trial), HWinfo (free) or any other system info software to give you the exact screen info:

    I believe you have the Alienware 17, also known as Ranger or R5.
