My LCD model number is LGD02C5. I have 120Hz 3D screen. Is the best screen that comes with 3D or is there any other better screen? What about Au Optronics..?

If I get a screen replacement will Dell give me another same model LG screen or another lower quality screen? Will the model numbers be same or different?

Today a technician came to replaace my touchpad and somehow got thermal paste all over my screen as well as on the rubber finish on top. He also banged, i repeat, banged the screen against the desk. I guess he underestimated the weight. And to replace touchpad for some reason he removed the heatsinks of cpu and gpu by removing one whole screw at a time and that too not in the proper order. Shoot me please. I was shouting stop stop and he was like , I know what to do....

Can anyone suggest a method to remove the paste from rubber finish without discolouring it? I have been trying with micro fiber cloth plus water but no use. The paste was IC diamond 24 btw..

I guess using ArtiClean on the rubber finish would be a very bad idea as it would discolour it,right?

What you need to do is call customer service and complain and have the repair guy come clean it or fix it. I wouldn't try and do it yourself.

i don't know if AUO makes a 17.3" 1080p 120hz screen. Their 1080p V4 60hz matte screen is suppose to be the best one available

I still can't believe how sloppy these techs are.

Personally, i would not try and clean that myself. Because if you damage the rubber, they can say you did it, regardless if the tech put it there or not. Call up dell again...sigh.

Ok guys.. Thanks.. Will call up dell for thermal paste...

Again, Is the replacement screen provided by dell exactly the same model as original one?

And basically the LG screen that i got is the best one for 120hz 3D, correct?

the replacement screens from dell will be whatever they have available at the moment. So some people on this forum, have LG screens (me included) and some have AU Optronics. They only care about spec's of the screens and not who makes it.

I have no idea if the screen you have is the best 120hz available on the market today. I suspect that its in the middle. Not the best, not the worse

I'd like to think so, I don't know if LG makes a 900p screen for the m17x, but I got an AU optronics one, It doesn't look to bad, but you can definitely tell the difference between 900p and my buddies 1080p M17x side by side :p

The LGD02C5 is the only 3D screen model. There are no other models that are 17.3, 1080p and 120Hz.
